Non-surgical Facial Treatments
with Dr David Barrett (BDS Liverpool)
I qualified from Liverpool University in 2004 and have had thirteen years experience working in General practice. In 2012 I completed my training in Injectable Cosmetic Fillers at the prestigious Dr Bob Khanna Training Institute in Reading and have been providing it to clients for the last five years.
What are Injectable Softeners?
They contain purified proteins produced by the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium. They are injected by qualified professionals into the facial muscles directly in very small amounts.
How do they work?
They work by blocking nerve impulses in the facial muscles, thus making the muscles less active. This leads to softening and smoothing of wrinkles in the face.
How long does it last for?
It starts to take effect after 3 days and lasts for 3 – 6 months. Every face is unique and we recommend treatments every 4 months to maintain the effect.
Is the treatment painful?
Clients may feel slight discomfort during the treatment itself but it is rare for treatment to be painful. You may have a little redness that will subside after a few hours and you should be able to return to work that day.
